Memphis rolls on UT-Martin

Memphis Tigers

So to make a short story long…

The Memphis vs. UT-Martin game (the first nationally televised game of the season) was being shown on ESPNU. Not having cable, I set out to find a local venue that had a) the game on of course and b) a pitcher of cold beer. Luckily for me, midtown always pulls through. Within walking distance laid a new establishment. Hopped into a booth and let the games begin.

From the play i think UT-Martin can take the Ohio-Valley. The three point shooting was unreal. Cal had to call and early timeout to settle my tigers. We took a nice double digit lead at the half backed by insane playing from Rose and Taggert. CDR was his usual self, I am so glad to see it. Even without the presence of Dorsey, the inside game was beat by Memphis. We have a lot of depth and our inside game is no slouch either.

After a quick bathroom break and a slow smoke, I mentioned right before the beginnning of the second half,”the next five minutes will determine this game.” It did as expected. Not like the Larry Finch years when we would lose a 20 point lead but rather build and mix it up to try a whole new approach. It paid off. Quickly going up by 30 points we were in total control.

My biggest hopes are the Anderson and Mack can do what they did in the off season from behind the arch in a real game when it counts.
