Riddle me this ;)

some text to make a point
some more text to make a paragraph look like what it is.

This is a link with no hover applied by IE6A link that should change colors on hover and take you nowhere. I know it has to a block level element but does display: block not make it work cross-browser? Don't get your hopes up. That is why I'm making this. Is it just an IE issue?.

And here's the same paragraph with a small change. A link that should change colors on hover and take you nowhere. I know it has to a block level element but does display: block not make it work cross-browser? Don't get your hopes up. That is why I'm making this. Is it just an IE issue?.

Testing in IE6, FF 2.0.0.11, Opera 9.22 & Safari 3.0.3 (PC), weird things happen.

FireFox 2.0.0.11
  • Let's just pretend everything is alright ;)
Safari 3.0.3 (PC)
  • How can I get the <ABBR> or <ACRONYM> roll over to show?
Opera 9.22
  • Why is the <SPAN> all spaced like that?
IE 6
  • Where do I begin ;) ?
  • If I erase the last 2 paragraphs the styling on the nested <ABBR> <ACRONYM> deal doesn't style.
  • The hover doesn't work on the a:first-line deal. Although it does on focus (?)
